E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) is the quality and credibility framework used by Google and AI models to evaluate content. Strong E-E-A-T signals increase the likelihood that content is included in AI answers and ranks highly in search.

E-E-A-T was expanded from E-A-T in 2022 with the addition of Experience — a signal that the author has practical, first-hand experience with the subject, not just theoretical knowledge. For AI visibility, all four dimensions are relevant: AI models favor content from named experts (Expertise), with external recognition (Authoritativeness), published on trustworthy domains (Trustworthiness), and with concrete examples and case studies (Experience).

Practical E-E-A-T measures include: a named author on every page, an author bio with professional background, references to established publications, dates on all content, and citations to primary sources.
