Prompt Visibility

Prompt-synlighet

Prompt visibility is the extent to which a brand, product, or source appears in AI model answers to specific prompts (questions or instructions) relevant to the business's offering. It is measured by systematically running representative prompts and recording occurrences.

Prompt visibility is the operational side of AI visibility. While AI visibility is the overarching concept, prompt visibility is the concrete measurement object: you select 50 representative prompts your potential customers ask, run them against relevant AI models, and record whether and how you appear.

Prompts are typically segmented into: awareness prompts (what is X?), consideration prompts (what are the best X?), and decision prompts (recommend an X for my purpose). Prompt visibility can vary dramatically between these types for the same brand.

The CAVIS framework structures prompt visibility analysis around real user situations rather than hypothetical searches.
