Google Rich Results Test
What is Google Rich Results Test?
Google Rich Results Test is a free, web-based tool from Google that validates whether schema markup on a page is correctly implemented and whether the page qualifies for rich results in Google Search.
How to use it
- Go to search.google.com/test/rich-results
- Enter the URL you want to test
- Click “Test URL”
- Review which schema types were found and whether there are errors
What it tests
- FAQPage
- HowTo
- Article
- Product
- Recipe
- and all other supported rich result types
Interpreting the results
Green check: Schema is valid and the page qualifies for rich results Yellow warning: Schema is implemented but has non-critical issues Red x: Schema is invalid — rich results are not possible
Limitations
Rich Results Test only validates schema that can produce rich results. For full schema validation (including DefinedTerm, BreadcrumbList), use schema.org/validator as well.
FAQ
Does it guarantee rich results in Google? No. Valid schema qualifies for rich results, but Google decides at its own discretion whether and when they appear.
Should I test every page? Test every page type (article, FAQ, guide, glossary term) — not necessarily every individual page. Fix errors and re-test.
